Confessions of an irresolute

20 03 2011

Well, I kept my New Year’s resolution going longer than most but March has been a difficult month and I’ve found regular activity in all areas too much to squeeze in. Bombarded with work and bad news, plus trying to get back into the long-neglected running habit, time has been at a premium. Now I’m pretty much settled into the new routine, AKE! will be back to regular working order, with the promised minimum one post a week, before March is over (some of them could even be interesting!).

In the meantime, my best wishes to all the people out there with infinitely bigger problems than what I refer to as bad news in my life. The shocking stories and images from the earthquakes in New Zealand and more recently Japan, and the regime change demonstrations in North Africa and the Middle East truly bring an extra sense of perspective to the travails of regular, unimportant individuals like myself.

The voice behind the sadly defunct Anglik z Anglii is back, this time to guide rather than complain. Finished your book you got for Christmas? Looking for inspiration as to what to read next? Consult The Krakow Review for all your literary needs.

Don’t forget to spread the word- keep books alive!

Goal!

30 12 2010

Sitting down over this Christmas holiday  and looking at the situation around me, it seems I have been guilty of letting this habit slip in recent times, happy rather than moving forward to simply maintain the status quo. No time like the present to mend my ways, so today I’m setting out the major aims for the year ahead, with part of the plan being that this blog will form a vital part of monitoring progress towards achieving them

Whatever the reason for your wondering, a thoroughly enjoyable insider’s view on life in Georgia (possibly including where it can be found- if not try an atlas) can be found at wishdafishwasme’s blog.

The pick so far

27 01 2010

Like any youngster, ‘Andy Knows Everything’ is still developing, figuring out what its strong points are and what it should cunningly steer clear of to avoid embarassment. This is your chance to aid this development, to become a kind of Dr. Frankenstein of the blog world if you like. All you have to do, for now at least, is let me know what your favourite post is from what’s on offer thus far, and what your least favourite is. Couldn’t really be much easier, so get stuck in
